Nicole Kidman is looking so much more natural & normal now. A few years ago she had that super shiny frozen forehead thing going on. Nicole is really on fire! Oscar nod for Lion, Emmy (win) for Lies, The Beguiled and now this! Yay. Not the worst mobile ever, but not one to waste the effort of pushing the play button for. The pretentious posers who give it great reviews should have their academic credentials revoked. Freakishly good film. Personally I can never get behind what Martin did I can understand wanting something anything for the equalization of the subsequent murder of his father but to poison a family for the wrong doings of 1 person is something I can never say is right. The death of Steven at the end just solidifies to me that he's an egotistical sociopath who deserves to be locked up and or killed for such a thing. Because the sum of his father's life to Steven's is not an equivalent exchange of justice to me.

To be fair, this film has some atmosphere & suspense up till the about the 1 hour mark ( for me. Wiser people would have probably 'got it' long before then & left the cinema.
Twas then I realized - it's not a thriller/mystery, but rather a horror, or surreal horror - which it should have been labeled as.

I just knew it was going to be all downhill from there on. The anticipated ridiculous plot unfolded, or rather didn't unfold.
Was left thinking why those actors would lower themselves to this standard. money I guess)
Up till now I'd always gone by the IMBD average score to determine if a movie was wort watching. If most people voted 7/10 It's always been good enough.
Now I don't trust the ratings & think they are somehow fixed.
I gave this 2 out of 10 rather than 1, because I suspect the 1 ratings are being ignored by the software.

This is literally the first time I've heard Colin's natural accent... Watch The Killing of a Sacred Deer WEB-DL movies. It felt like I was watching the Zoldyck family or castlevenia with the music in this movie. Tis coming on my birthday. Colin Farell is a good actor, he just needs to pick better projects. Movie in theater or to enjoy the full movie at your home either way.

Wish I didn't live in a small town surrounded by other small towns so I can't even see this movie! Unless I drive 4 hours north of where I live to see it! I'm pissed! This better be released everywhere.

It's that kind of movie - the ones where the writer and director plays to the audience's ego. Formless, pretentious drivel that has people congratulating themselves for "getting" it, unlike we fans of Transformers and Fast & Furious. Well done to the makers though for inventing the "inability to act as an art form" genre, especially tailored for Farrell. They started it with The Lobster and he gives another "sleepwalking frightened rabbit" performance here. Tremendous.
